Lynwood Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher – Science for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.

Suitable applicants will promote an environment of active and positive learning as well as provide educational opportunities and activities which enable all students to achieve their highest potential.

Suitable applicants should ideally be able to display commitment to delivering high quality, engaging learning experiences which highlight their deep knowledge of the Year 7 to 12 Science curriculum. They should also exhibit an outstanding application of best practice assessment and reporting practices which include a high level of data analysis skills to monitor the progress of students and classes and adjust learning strategies as required. It would be highly desirable for applicants to have experience in planning and delivering programs for academically motivated students and students with special needs, as well as experience in engaging students in outreach programs, competitions and extracurricular opportunities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and/or Sustainability.
Applicants with experience and skill in teaching students from a non-English speaking backgrounds, teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Physics, ATAR Chemistry, ATAR Human Biology and/or Integrated Science are strongly encouraged to apply. Knowledge or completion of CMS (Classroom Management Strategies), IS (Instructional Strategies) and EI (Explicit Instruction) professional workshops would also be highly desirable.
Applicants with a strong commitment to the development of their own pedagogy via avenues such as targeted professional learning, collaboration with colleagues, membership of a professional learning team, use of student feedback surveys and formative assessment are encouraged to apply. Aspirant leaders with the ability to manage and support key programs and additional activities at Lynwood SHS will be highly regarded.
Suitable applicants will be given the opportunity to work across Years 7 to 12 and bring their expertise to the Learning Area, applying their knowledge of the Science Courses. You will ideally be student focused, highly motivated and innovative. You should possess sound interpersonal skills, be enthusiastic and be able to work cooperatively in a Learning Area team.
