Appointment Pool

Gooseberry Hill Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.

As a teacher at our school, you will ideally contribute to a positive team culture and be committed to genuine collaboration in planning for, teaching and assessing student learning. You should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment. 

Suitable applicants should exhibit a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum. They should also possess the ability to plan for school improvement using and responding to all data sources, ensuring curriculum and pedagogical development is current and ongoing.

Gooseberry Hill PS is located approximately 20 kilometres from the CBD in a unique bush setting with nearby national parks and local reserves and it is often frequented by a range of bird life and native wildlife. The school was established in 1972 and during this time has created an enviable record of being a nurturing school, committed to excellence and supported by a caring community.

The experienced school staff members have developed a real sense of community and commitment to the school and assist in developing and coordinating programs which assist students to learn. The school operates on whole school literacy and numeracy plans to strengthen the skills of all students in Literacy and Numeracy. The staff strives for excellence in all areas resulting in a number of our students gaining entry to academic excellence programmes and specialist arts programs when they venture to secondary education.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
