Geraldton Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic Languages (Indonesian) Teacher.
The successful applicant will ideally be committed to promoting and fostering student engagement and academic achievement in Languages. You will ideally use professional knowledge, understanding and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant Languages curriculum. Recent experience in teaching Junior Primary Languages is highly desirable.
The successful applicant will ideally be a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic Languages Teacher with a strong Indonesian language background. You should have the ability to immerse students in both an understanding of the language and the development of cultural awareness.
The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing visible learning practices that involve the provision of learning intentions and success criteria for all lessons. Additionally, you will provide effective feedback to students through formative assessment and negotiate goals that support students to become independent learners.
A key attribute to this role is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are fun, purposeful, and relevant and cater for differing student learning needs.
Geraldton PS is Western Australia's oldest continuously operating primary school, with students first attending in 1878. The school is heritage-listed and we have a long established and excellent reputation in the Geraldton community, attracting students from all parts of the city and outlying regions.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
