Eastern Hills Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a hardworking and motivated Design and Technology Teacher to join our friendly and supportive team.
To be successful in this role you will be able to engage students in a range of contexts within the Technologies Learning Area based on your knowledge and skills. This position includes classes in the Automotive, Wood and Metals area of Design and Technology. You will ideally have a strong understanding of the requirements across the Technologies Learning Area to ensure our students can reach their full potential, safely, in all aspects of the Technology process. Knowledge of, and experience in, Australian Curriculum planning, delivery and assessment as well as familiarity with the requirements of WACE courses of study will be highly regarded. You will have the opportunity to deliver highly engaging programs that are relevant to our students' needs in consultation with the rest of the Technologies team. With effective interpersonal skills, you will work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
The successful applicant will self-reflect and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in providing an engaging, student-centred curriculum encouraging students to be their best. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
