Appointment Pool
Duncraig Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated, passionate and enthusiastic Teachers of Physical Education, Health and Outdoor Education for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
Suitable applicants will use their excellent interpersonal skills, extensive and up to date knowledge of the WA curriculum and high quality teaching practices to provide students with the highest quality learning experiences. Applicants would be reflective practitioners, effective in cultivating safe and encouraging learning environments and be able to demonstrate a commitment to excellence.
Outdoor Education is very established at Duncraig SHS and is a popular selection with students. Experience and expertise within this area and the ability to make positive, meaningful contributions towards the school’s existing practices and programs would be highly regarded. It is also highly desirable for applicants to possess comprehensive knowledge and experience in developing and refining Year 7-10 Health programs and initiatives. These are sought after but not essential as multiple positions are expected to be filled from the pool.
Duncraig SHS maintains a significant focus on the quality of the teaching and learning that takes place, with a particular emphasis on maximising student engagement and student learning outcomes. You would have a genuine interest in working in collaboration with colleagues to lead improvements in pedagogy, curriculum and student achievement across Year 7 to 12. Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging ICT based technologies in the classroom is important, as Duncraig SHS operates a 1:1 personal ICT device policy that is firmly embedded across all learning areas. A familiarity with SEQTA would be well regarded as this is the online learning management system used at Duncraig SHS.
Successful applicants would have the ability to work collaboratively within a busy and well-functioning team environment and will have the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to our school community. They will be dedicated, passionate and highly effective educators who have a deep understanding of and experience with a diverse range of student learning needs and styles, and will inspire students to achieve to their potential.
Duncraig SHS is situated in the north-western suburbs on the coastal strip 18km from Perth.
