Are you a dedicated and passionate Health and Physical Education Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity?
Esperance Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Health and Physical Education (HPE) Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
The Ideal Teacher
Suitable applicants will ideally have a practical understanding of the Year 7 to 10 Western Australian curriculum for Health and Physical Education, as well as the ability to teach both the General Senior School and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) courses. You will ideally have the ability to work as part of a learning team to provide high quality learning experiences for all students. Within this role, you will be provided the opportunity to work across Years 7 to 12 applying your knowledge of HPE, whilst using best practice teaching and learning principles in the delivery of the curriculum. Suitable applicants will be required to go on camps and excursions as this is a critical part of the HPE program at Esperance SHS.
Suitable applicants should be relationship focused educators and have the strong interpersonal skills required to work in a large collaborative and supportive team environment. Suitable applicants will be joining a progressive and enthusiastic team of teachers. The capacity to lead curriculum development and meet the needs of students with a range of abilities is highly desirable for this role.
As a highly effective educator you should possess an excellent understanding of the Western Australian curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements in lower school and the current Senior School courses. This knowledge, combined with pedagogical skills, enables the development of programs differentiated for the specific learning needs of all students across the full range of abilities.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
