Greenwood College is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and passionate Media Teacher. As a Media Teacher you will participate as an integral member of the Arts learning area and would actively contribute and support a collaborative team approach to further develop a culture of excellence in the Arts teaching and learning program.
As a Media Teacher you will support a collaborative approach to curriculum planning, provide learning programs to students suiting the needs of the school community and model exemplary teaching and learning strategies in your delivery. The successful applicant will ideally possess a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, ideally having knowledge of and experience in, a range of instructional strategies and tactics.
A strong working knowledge of contemporary Media technology and the ability to teach Media Studies across a range of ability levels from Year 7 to Year 12, including Senior Secondary General Media Production & Analysis courses will be highly regarded. A small teaching load in Photography may be attached to this position. As a reflective practitioner, the successful applicant will ideally possess effective data literacy and a capacity to modify their practice to meet identified student needs. The capacity to engage in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices, including integration of information technology into the curriculum, will be highly regarded. Pastoral care also remains a highly desirable aspect of the role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships, will be advantageous. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
