Harrisdale Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year.
Suitable applicants will ideally be highly motivated, energetic and possess the qualities to promote excellence, build effective teams and implement innovative curriculum. You should also possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively.
We are seeking teachers who pursue excellence in teaching, have high expectations and truly believe that all children can learn and be successful. You will also be committed to putting students first in your decision-making and undertake the hard work that is inherent in adhering to a whole school approach. Harrisdale (PS) is located in the South-Metro region. It is a very large primary school with a student population in excess of 1000 students. The school is equipped with state of the art facilities and technologies, and delivers learning and teaching programs aligned to current research and best practice. The school aims to provide an educational program of the highest standard and facilities include purpose built early childhood (pre-primary) buildings, a modern library, including hard copy and e-books, an indoor/outdoor undercover area, naturescape play areas, purpose built music, science and art rooms and modern, contemporary classrooms.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

Applicants currently completing the Department of Education Leap program (formerly known as the Switch program) can apply for vacancies using their current or Leap qualification – even if they have not completed the program at the time of applying. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
