Appointment Pool
Success Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2022.
As a teacher at Success PS you will be committed, professional and a collaborative participant in our inclusive and culturally diverse education community. Success PS is a unique community consisting of mainstream and education support classes with purpose built facilities to support a range of student needs. All individuals are equally valued and respected members of the whole school community.
To be suitable for inclusion in this pool you will ideally possess excellent communication skills to work as a part of a team to deliver explicit teaching programs. We desire teachers who are educators, with experience and understanding of working with students with a diverse range of special needs. You will ideally have a working knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, Abilities Based Learning Education Western Australia, ABLE WA and knowledge of First Steps Literacy including guided reading and synthetic phonics (Letters and Sounds). At Success PS we support students using Team Teach principles, Zones of Regulation, Positive Behaviour Support and Augmentative Alternative Communication, AAC, as a school priority.
We are focused on creating high performing teams to impact student outcomes. We use DiSC profiling and Patrick Lencion’s model of reference. Opportunities will exist for teachers to lead teams and curriculum areas. We work on distributed leadership and provide opportunities for staff to build capacity as leaders.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
