Esperance Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a dedicated Technical Officer - Agricultural Instruction who is able to work with young adults in an agricultural training environment.
The Technical Officer – Agricultural Instruction is directly involved in day-to-day operation of the farm enterprises and the implementation of the farm development plan. The successful applicant will maintain enterprises on the farm which may include livestock management, cropping, horticulture, mechanics and building maintenance. The successful applicant will also assist in the preparation and delivery of agricultural education and training programs and assists with the instruction and supervision of groups of students in a workplace environment.
Esperance SHS offers a comprehensive secondary education from Years 7 to 12, and provides a range of curriculum subject choices and exciting extracurricular activities. Esperance lies in the South-East of Western Australia, some 730 Kilometres from Perth. The town has won awards for its stunning natural environment and is one of Western Australia’s best kept tourist secrets. The school has a reputation for providing strong academic and vocational programs and for offering a wide choice of courses to meet a variety of student learning needs. Students consistently achieve to a high level in a variety of programs, including in final Year 12 Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathway results.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
Please note: The salary level for this position will be determined after the successful applicant is assessed as addressing all eligibility and selection criteria indicated in the relevant attached JDF in the context of the outcomes and selection criteria described.
The highest rate an applicant can start at as a L1 is Level 1.4 (as negotiated with the principal). However, applicants may still be able to commence at a L2.1 or L3.1 if suitably qualified or with requisite experience.
Level 2, $63,172 - $68,256 per annum (PSCA 2019)
Level 3, $71,896 - $77,717 per annum (PSCA 2019)
