Are you looking for a change? Then look no further! The Schools Planning Branch is seeking enthusiastic individual to join their dynamic team.
The successful applicant will assist in the planning and implementation of statewide initiatives and strategies that impact on schooling planning, including the Enrolment policy and procedures, provision for students with disability and catering for enrolment growth. You will be responsible for researching trends in education delivery, monitoring enrolment trends to inform future schooling provision, investigating issues that impact on schooling delivery and recommending appropriate modifications to policies, procedures and strategies.
Individuals with highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively consult at a senior level, across a broad range of settings within the public and private sector are encouraged to apply.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of educational trends and issues impacting on the delivery of schooling across the State and the requirements and strategic directions of the Department.
- Highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively consult at a senior level, across a broad range of settings within the public and private sectors.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical, research and investigation skills and the ability to make recommendations and provide innovative solutions to complex problems and issues.
- Highly developed skills in applying strategic thinking and providing strategic options to achieve outcomes; and establishing and implementing effective change management strategies.
- Highly developed skills in managing and leading delivery of a range of complex projects/programs.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
