Baldivis Secondary College (SC) is seeking a dedicated an enthusiastic and dedicated Vocational Education and Training (VET) Support Officer to join their school.
The successful applicant provides administrative support ensuring the efficient operation in Career Development, including administering spreadsheets, databases, student records and the effective management of other college information systems specifically INTEGRIS. The successful applicant creates and prepares college materials for publication and undertakes routine analyses and reporting on results undertakes student-related activities such as providing limited career information and advice, and collation of student documentation relevant to the VET Learning Area and in particular, monitoring and compliance of Workplace Learning.
Baldivis SC, located 46km south of Perth, is a new and vibrant learning community and the first public secondary school established in the area. Students and staff are expected to achieve personal excellence in all they do. The college operates on the belief that the individuals in our community should have every opportunity extended to them to assist them in achieving to their full potential. Baldivis SC has a broad curriculum based on the Australian Curriculum. As a cutting edge college we have an IT rich teaching and learning environment. We are currently developing specialist programs for Department of Education approval. We take the view that each and every program delivered in our learning community is a specialised program.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- good verbal and written communication skills, including application of customer service principles and practices.
- interpersonal skills and the ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
- ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- effective planning and organisational skills and experience in providing administrative support.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
