Newman Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a suitably qualified, dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join their team. We are looking for a teacher with excellent interpersonal skills who will provide high quality learning experiences for all students in English. Early career teachers are encouraged to apply.
The successful applicant will have a passion for secondary education, a positive attitude and a willingness to work collaboratively with a focus on high expectations of student progress and success. You will have sound knowledge and teaching practice in the English curriculum, especially Years 7-10. The school currently runs ATAR and General English Courses in Years 11 and 12, and a capacity to teach these is highly desirable. You will be highly motivated, innovative and able to work collaboratively in a team environment designing and preparing relevant curriculum and assessment materials to meet our students at their point of need. A capacity to teach in other areas will be well regarded, as being flexible in a small school is an advantage.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
