Appointment Pool
Dianella Secondary College Education Support Centre (SCESC) are seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and committed Classroom Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2022.
Dianella SCESC is a richly multicultural school that forms part of the Dianella Education Precinct catering for students with disabilities from Years 7 to Year 12. Our school community promotes a positive education school model and our school focuses on maximising our student’s potential as well as promoting student and staff wellbeing. At Dianella SCESC, we are looking for teachers who are passionate about working in an education support centre environment. Suitable applicants will ideally possess the requisite skills to manage student behaviours and class teams, liaise with parents as well as agencies and therapists to meet the educational and care needs of each student. Applicants who are fundamentally strong in teaching and classroom skills as well as possessing sound behaviour management skills are strongly encouraged to apply.
Education Support Teachers, at Dianella SCESC, will ideally possess outstanding interpersonal skills and have an ability to build effective working relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community. Knowledge of trauma-based practices and positive education approaches is highly desirable. As are those applicants who have knowledge of ASDAN (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network), Workplace Learning (WPL), Vocational Education (VET), Bushrangers, Reporting to Parents and other educational support specialist programs.
In addition, suitable applicants will support the implementation of the college business plan, to work and teach in a team environment, be committed to the whole college approach and initiatives and have a strong evidence based method to teaching. For the reason that, the learning environment that you create will be caring, differentiated, challenging and cater for the needs which will see all students learning and progressing.
Dianella Secondary College Education Support Centre is an Independent Public School which provides a caring and supportive school environment where the rights and responsibilities of the individual are recognised and respected.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
