This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2021

Arbor Grove Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher to join their team.

The successful applicant will have the capacity to teach in Year 3 to Year 6. As a member of Arbor Grove PS you will possess a commitment to student engagement through strong explicit teaching practice and knowledge of best practice classroom management strategies. Applicants will need to collaborate effectively with their year level and phase of learning teams. The ability to provide an enriched, supportive and engaging classroom environment with a focus on pastoral care is highly desirable.

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and highly motivated educator with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Applicants will ideally have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be able to deliver content in an engaging manner. It would be advantageous for applicants to have a detailed knowledge of PLD, Talk 4 Writing and Stepping Stones as they are key whole school programs.

Arbor Grove PS is committed to the principles of the Positive Behaviour Framework, Teaching Sprints and whole school programs that deliver strong outcomes for our students and wider community. We engage actively with Community Partners and experience dealing with outside agencies would be advantageous.

Our dedicated and experienced teachers are focused on engagement, attendance and pastoral care. Our pastoral care support includes our Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer, school psychologist and a school chaplain. We endeavour to take a holistic approach to support all children through active case management.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
