This is an eight (8) month fixed term, part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2021

Mullaloo Heights Primary School (PS) are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic Primary Teacher.

The successful applicant will have the ability to implement the Western Australian Curriculum in Years 3-6. In addition, knowledge or experience of Talk 4 Writing, First Steps (Reading & Numeracy) and Paul Swan’s Maths Problem Solving strategies would be advantageous as these programs and approaches are implemented consistently across the school. Moreover, you will have high expectations for student achievement and differentiate the curriculum to ensure all students are given every opportunity to experience success in their learning. You will possess exceptional communication and collaborative skills in order to build effective working relationships with students, staff and families. It is imperative to develop a climate of trust within the school community to assist in promoting the school’s Vision and the values.

Mullaloo Heights Primary School is an Independent Public School catering for approximately 250 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our school is characterised by a strong sense of community; the result of a strong commitment from our parents who work proactively with us to provide a safe, yet challenging learning environment for all of our students.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

  • be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
