Tammin Primary School (PS) is seeking an energetic and proactive Teacher - Primary to join our friendly and supportive team.
We are seeking applicants who demonstrate that they are highly motivated, skilled and proactive in creating an effective, engaging and inclusive learning environment with high expectations and high care for all students. The successful applicant will ideally be a collaborative professional, have excellent interpersonal skills, practise current pedagogy and demonstrate familiarity and expertise in all aspects of primary education.
The successful applicant will be committed to improving student outcomes, ideally have a strong literacy and numeracy focus, be skilled at differentiation and have effective classroom management skills. You will work in a collaborative environment, implementing whole school practices, including evidence based strategies such as Talk for Writing.
Located 180 kilometres east of Perth, Tammin Primary School caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. With a history that spans 117 years, we are proud of our friendly, caring and inclusive atmosphere.
Tammin PS is consistently evolving to ensure a dynamic learning environment is provided and staff work collaboratively to assist children in realising their potential. Our educational philosophy places strong emphasis on the implementation of systemic whole-school English and Mathematics programs, across two composite classrooms. All support staff work closely with classroom teachers to provide enriched targeted learning programs.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
