This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2021

Wandering Primary school (PS) is seeking a dedicated and committed Early Childhood Teacher to join their friendly team.

The successful applicant will possess a strong knowledge of all key elements of Early Years pedagogy and curriculum as well as an ability to inspire students to develop a passion for learning in vibrant, engaging and supportive classrooms. The successful applicant will be highly motivated, display excellent interpersonal skills and have an ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.

Wandering PS has a strong focus on collaboration and working productively across the school community, so team work is highly valued.  As a reflective teacher, the successful applicant will also need to display a commitment to improvement and implementing whole school strategies, including Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).

Applicants with knowledge and experience of whole school programs including Talk for Writing, Letters and Sounds, Brightpath Assessment, and Stepping Stones is desirable. A keen interest in the integration of technology in the classroom, including Science, Technology, Engeineering and Science (STEM)/ Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) would be ideal. We also seek applicants who highly value inclusivity and have an understanding of building a positive, engaging classroom culture with a diverse student group with a range of abilities academic, social and emotional.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
