Are you a positive and talented teacher who strives to enhance their student’s educational outcomes?

Middle Swan Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.

Successful applicants will become part of a collegial team focussed on progressing school improvement and individual student outcomes. A preparedness to reflect and then seek to improve one’s own practice is fundamental to the ongoing progress of the school.

Suitable applicants will support and implement whole school initiatives and programs outlined in the school’s Business Plan including the school’s priorities of Literacy, Numeracy and Wellbeing.

Whole school practices require you to have excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style.

Planning within block teams calls for the applicant to be competent in evidenced based practices such as explicit teaching, ‘Talk 4 Writing’, ‘Talk 4 Reading’ and to be prepared to plan individual learning areas for block groups. You will also implement high levels of engagement and skilled behaviour management practices to maintain a calm learning environment and to promote the learning outcomes of our students.

Middle Swan PS is an Independent Public School. It is a large, well-resourced and well equipped school, catering for approximately 470 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school population is drawn mainly from Stratton and the nearby suburbs of Jane Brook and Middle Swan.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

Applications will be assessed against these domains. The business needs of the school may also be considered. It is therefore recommended that you consider all information contained in the advertisement and any other related information before applying for the vacancy.

Applicants currently completing the Department of Education Leap program (formerly known as the Switch program) can apply for vacancies using their current or Leap qualification – even if they have not completed the program at the time of applying. Applicants may be appointed to a vacancy based on the qualification being completed via the Leap program.

The Department is an equal opportunity employer and encourages people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and persons from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.
