Harrisdale Primary School (PS) is seeking a passionate and committed Impact Coach K-2 who will work closely with the Principal and Executive Team to provide educational leadership in the school by developing and promoting the school vision #everystudentsuccessful. Your ability to work collaboratively with year level leaders and teachers to lead whole-school, connected practice and achieve targets, is central to the role. As Impact Coach-Junior, you will ideally provide high quality leadership to staff across literacy and numeracy, and possess the ability to provide direction and purpose to staff, build team capacity and cohesion and promote an environment of positive quality learning experiences for all staff and students.
As an Impact Coach, you will ideally possess an extensive knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum. The successful applicant will apply their professional knowledge and understanding to promote effective and rigorous teaching, learning and assessment. This knowledge, combined with explicit pedagogical skills, will enable the development of programs to cater for a diverse range of students. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing the capabilities and capacity of early childhood staff in planning, actioning and reviewing teaching programs. You will also require the capacity to lead and evaluate assessment and moderation activities that ensure consistent and comparable judgements of student learning
As the successful applicant, it is desired that you will be an exemplary classroom practitioner who can; model innovative, future-focused thinking; lead the implementation of excellence in teaching and learning and possess an ability to build capacity and capabilities of staff by modelling, working alongside, mentoring and coaching.
As a leader and exceptional classroom practitioner you will have the ability to lead improvement and change initiatives and continually reflect on teaching and learning. It is desirable for applicants to have the ability to use data analysis to inform your planning and assessment, and utilise data to drive change and improve students’ academic performance. The successsful will lead learning opportunities for staff to ensure consistently high levels of curriculum delivery.
Critical to the role, is your capacity to build positive relationships and trust with staff and have highly efficient communication skills. You will be able to collaborate very effectively with others to sustain a professional team culture whereby staff feel supported to share effective teaching and learning practices. You will ideally be motivated and self-driven, able to work collaboratively or independently.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
