Sir David Brand School is seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic Teachers – Education Support for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2021 up to the end of Term 3, 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2021.
Suitable applicants will be committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. They will be motivated, practical, hardworking, and innovative and possess outstanding interpersonal skills. Suitable applicants will pursue excellence in classroom teaching, in particular when working with students with high needs. They would also need to possess excellent classroom practice, focusing on innovation and classroom management based on positive partnerships between students, education assistants, teachers and parents.
Applicants will ideally have the sound pedagogical knowledge and instructional skills required to run high quality, targeted student programs. In addition, the successful applicant must have sound organisational abilities and demonstrated leadership skills. A positive team work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills are a large component of the role as is a demonstrated ability to cater for the high support and diverse learning needs of students with disabilities. Effective and positive behaviour socialisation skills are highly desirable. Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
