Appointment Pool
Balcatta Primary Schoolis seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.

We are a small school of 240 looking to grow in the coming years while looking for staff who can grow our supportive culture. We empower reflective practice through an embedded observational model and frequent classroom walkthroughs. We are looking for applicants that have a positive impact when teaching students and outstanding curriculum knowledge. With a refurbished science room, we are moving towards a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) model with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) and Information Communication Technology (ICT). To be suitable in the role the applicants will not only be able to show their ability to integrate digital technologies into their teaching practice, but be able to troubleshoot high level challenges faced by themselves and others around them.
Suitable applicants will be organised, explicit in their practice, employ excellent communication skills, have strength in building positive and productive relationships to improve student outcomes. The suitable applicants will ideally have knowledge of English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) and delivering differentiated programs to support language acquisition. While demonstrating the ability to manage students at risk and implement research based strategies to meet students’ needs at all levels.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
