Greenfields Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated, innovative and energetic upper primary teacher who believes in success for all students.

The successful applicant will keep up to date with current research around teaching practice, in particular; explicit teaching, high impact learning, engagement norms, effective feedback and co-operative learning. They will also use a variety of assessments tasks such as Brightpath, Literacy Pro and PAT to accurately track and assess levels of achievement.

We believe that every child matters every day and ensure that students receive high quality education. Our staff provide fun and engaging lessons, as we want to foster a love of learning in our students. As part of your role you would be required to set goals with your students that are scaffolded and achievable. We are looking for a team player, who is collaborative, positive and enthusiastic about building our professional learning community.

Our students require a teacher who is compassionate, caring and creates a safe and supportive learning environment. As a school we have developed our own behaviour matrix around a positive behaviour model, which we expect all of our students to follow. At Greenfields PS we have developed our own explicit teaching model, which forms part of our school Business Plan. We also use a number of programs, including; Spelling Mastery on top of regular classroom spelling programs, Cars & Stars which complements our in-class reading programs and PRIME Maths.

The leadership team strives to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere that allows teachers to develop and refine their skills as effective teachers. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
