Appointment Pool
Joseph Banks Secondary College (SC) are seeking to establish a pool of dedicated Science Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
Suitable applicants will be passionate and dedicated educators, highly motivated to work in a collaborative team environment. They will provide students with a purposeful and engaging learning experience to develop their skills, knowledge and understandings related to Science.

Suitable applicants will have the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Applicants should have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and able to teach students of varying ability levels, differentiating the curriculum, across Year 7 – 12 in a highly engaging manner. Suitable applicants would ideally have experience in teaching senior secondary Science and possess strong skills and experience in teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Science courses.
Suitable applicants will also have a strong working knowledge of teaching strategies to support inquiry based learning in science and strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging Information Communication Technologies (ICT) based technologies and cooperative learning instructional strategies is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment will be well regarded as well as a willingness to engage in professional learning and liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks. Joseph Banks SC is an active participant in a variety of Science, Technology, Engeering, Mathematics (STEM) initiatives, with a variety of purpose designed classes for STEM and effective integration across learning areas.
Suitable applicants will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning. You will be innovative, knowledgeable and possess thorough understandings of instructional and curriculum expertise whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within Science and STEM. Joseph Banks SC, an Independent Public School, is located in the suburb of Banksia Grove, approximately 27 km from the Perth CBD. We currently accept students from Years 7-12. The vision for Joseph Bank SC is to create a vibrant culture of excellence, innovation, opportunity and success for students, staff and the community. Eligibility
Employees will be required to:

Training
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
