Australind Senior High School (SHS) are looking a proactive, intelligent and passionate Technologies Teacher who is able to effectively teach across the school’s Technologies programs.
Australind SHS is an Independent Public School that is committed to hand selecting the very best teachers who are the right fit for our school and community. The successful applicant should be able to substantiate a strong commitment to the development of their own pedagogy via avenues such as targeted professional learning, collaboration with colleagues, membership of a professional learning team, use of student feedback surveys and formative assessment.
The successful applicant will ideally have an understanding, and be able to teach the existing Western Australian Curriculum: Technologies courses from Year 7 to Year 10 students, including diverse programs, contexts in Personal Development, Community Services, Foods, Textiles, Childcare Studies and Craft.
Australind SHS is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with a number of Certificates in the Technologies Learning Area on our scope. It will be an advantage if applicants hold a current Certificate IV Training and Assessment, however applicants interested in obtaining this are encouraged to apply.
Applicants who are interested in teaching or hold the qualifications to teach Certificate II in Community Services are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will ideally be versatile and committed to student achievement as well as being willing to commit to the school expectations and business plan priorities.
The care we offer each and every student defines our purpose. We have a rigorous student services program which has been set up to ensure all our students are well cared for socially, emotionally, physically and academically.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
