Appointment Pool
Are you a passionate, student focussed teacher, seeking a positive team for 2021?
North Tom Price Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
Suitable applicants will demonstrate a strong knowledge of all key elements of curriculum and pedagogy as well as an ability to inspire students to develop a passion for learning in vibrant, engaging and supportive classrooms. Successful applicants will be highly motivated, display excellent interpersonal skills and have an ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.
North Tom Price PS has a strong focus on collaboration and working productively across all staff, so team work is highly valued. As a reflective teacher, the successful applicant will also need to display a commitment to improvement and implementing whole school strategies, including classroom observations.
Applicants with knowledge and experience of Explicit Direct Instruction and whole school programs including Talk for Writing, Letters and Sounds, CARS And STARS, Stepping Stones and Spelling Mastery is desirable. A keen interest in the integration of technology in the classroom, including STEM/ STEAM would be ideal. We also seek applicants who highly value inclusivity and have an understanding of building a positive, engaging classroom culture with a diverse student group including Aboriginal students.
North Tom Price PS is one of two primary schools located at Tom Price in the Pilbara region of WA, approximately 1465km from Perth. The school has attractive grounds which adjoin the local oval and is surrounded by the nearby ranges of the picturesque Hamersley Ranges. The renowned Karijini National Park is a short drive away providing a picturesque recreational area to visit and enjoy.
The school has approximately 280 students from Kindergarten to Year Six. Our students come from all over the world including Australia, New Zealand, Philippines and Thailand. NTPPS prides itself in high levels of professionalism and a close partnership with the school community

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
