This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2021 with possible extension and/or permanency
Jerramungup District High School (DHS) is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join their team.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate positive outcomes using innovative teaching and learning strategies incorporating relevant information technology to engage students. They will have a high level of community engagement and understand how to build positive relationships with students, staff, families, the wider community and external agencies.
The successful applicant will also need to be able to demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills that lead to a supportive and safe learning environment. Ideally teachers will be energetic, enthusiastic and display a wide repertoire of teaching strategies that embrace the differentiation of the Western Australian Curriculum. Above all, demonstrate that they will be a team-orientated professional.
The following experience and skill set would be highly desirable: relevant experience teaching Years 7-10 Physical Education courses and a preparedness to undertake further training in the above courses if required.

The staff at Jerramungup are a friendly and collaborative team who provide a positive supportive environment for students, staff and community. Jerramungup DHS is located in the wheat and sheep farming community of Jerramungup, 440km south east of Perth. It is situated within the Fitzgerald Biosphere which is part of the acclaimed Fitzgerald National Park, located nearby to the east of Jerramungup.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

Eligibility
Employees will be required to:

Training
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
