Appointment Pool

Halls Head College are seeking to establish a pool of proactive, dedicated and innovative Arts teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time prior to or for commencements within the 2021 school year.

Suitable applicants will have a background in Dance / Music teaching up to year 9 or Digital Arts contexts of photography / media. They should be dedicated to inspiring a real passion for Arts learning and exhibition, and hold prior experience in delivering successful learning programs across a range of Arts context, with a depth of understanding of the West Australian Arts Syllabus.

The suitable applicants for this position will be student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in team environments. They will exhibit the professional knowledge, understandings and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school Arts curriculum in both the visual and performance contexts. As an expert practitioner, applicants will have commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. Another key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs.  The desired applicants will have links in the Community Arts Network and the adaptability to engage media, dance and photography programmes.

Halls Head College is uniquely situated on the 'island' of Halls Head just south of Mandurah. The local intake area of Halls Head College is south, close to the Waroona Shire boundary. The contributory primary schools are Glencoe, Halls Head, Falcon, South Halls Head and Ocean Road. The college provides a secondary education for students who live in the rapidly growing coastal strip, south of Mandurah.
