This is a twelve (12) month fixed-term full time position commencing Term 1, 2021 with possible extension twelve (12) months
Gairdner Primary School (PS) is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher for its Kindergarten to Year 2 class commencing Term 1 2021. The successful applicant should be enthusiastic with a passion for teaching and be confident to teach in a multi-aged setting.
It is important that the suitable applicant is flexible in their daily routines as occasionally events occur without much notice. Having a good rapport with students and good communication skills with parents is vital to this role within the school.
Our school is situated in a rural farming area, where students arrive by school bus from surrounding farms. We have a projected enrolment of 28 students within 2 classrooms. It is a small, very welcoming school with friendly staff. The early childhood area has a recently renovated classroom, a separate smaller room for play or individual work and a fun outdoor play area with bike track and a mini nature play area.
Gairdner PS is located 145kms east of Albany. It is integral to the thriving rural community of Gairdner and has strong links with the neighbouring towns of Jerramungup, Bremer Bay, Borden, Ongerup and Wellstead. We have a proactive School Board and P&C who work hard to support our school. As a school, we work closely with the other small schools in the area so that there can be a sharing of ideas and assessment moderation. As a teacher here, you will always be supported.
Gairdner PS is a place where everybody feels valued and safe and where individual differences are appreciated, understood and accepted. Our goal is to assist all children to reach their academic potential by guiding them to become independent learners in a safe, supportive environment. The school has a happy and friendly feel and is a welcoming place to work.
Sadly, Gairdner does not have a town-site and accommodation for the successful applicant would be in either Jerramungup or Bremer Bay.
If you are interested in working in a rural setting and being part of our small friendly team, we welcome your application.
