Appointment Pool
Flinders Park Primary School (PS) We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise for or during Semester 1 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencement within Semester 1 2021.
Flinders Park PS is a Level 5 primary school, located on the eastern edge of Albany. The location of the school helps to promote a strong sense of community and influences a ‘rural atmosphere’. We have a diverse range of families in terms of socio-economic status, life style and employment. The school prides itself in making constant improvement and striving for high expectations academically, socially, emotionally and physically.
The suitable applicants will ideally have proven skills in early childhood education knowledge of The National Quality Standard (NQS) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and implementing play-based practices. The suitable applicant will possess a comprehensive knowledge of the West Australian Curriculum, with explicit teaching skills in Literacy and Numeracy and the ability to use data to drive planning.
We are looking for committed, passionate teachers to join our unique and highly successful team of professionals. The suitable applicants ideally will be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of highly effective teaching strategies specifically in explicit instruction as well as the ability to understand and use student and whole school performance data effectively to inform planning and differentiation across the early years. Suitable applicants will be able to support major school directions, as outlined in our Business Plan, and be committed to whole school approaches articulated in our Action Plans.
We seek teachers who will inspire students to develop an enthusiasm for learning in vibrant, engaging and supportive classrooms. Suitable applicants will ideally possess the ability to build strong and valuable relationships with students, staff and the school community. They will exhibit proactive strategies to support and improve student behaviour and engagement, to enable positive outcomes in and out of the classroom.
It is highly desirable that applicants will demonstrate high levels of team work, be confident in working collaboratively, demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and willing to assist in making a positive difference in the success of all students. Newly appointed staff will be expected to exemplify our school’s values.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
