Geographe Education Support Centre is seeking qualified education support teachers to work on our primary campus. We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
The teachers must hold a relevant qualification and/or have a significant amount of experience working in education support schools or centres.
Suitable applicants will be required to work as either a general classroom teacher or in a support role. We are looking for applicants who are keen to be a part of an established team, who are prepared to teach our whole school programs, with strong behaviour management skills.
The suitable applicants with experience working with a wide range of students and a wide range of disabilities with be highly regarded. We are also looking for teachers who have experience working with a large group of support staff in their classroom. It takes skill to manage adults as well as the students in the classroom. We want staff who are interested in engaging the parents of our students in all aspects of their child's learning. We work closely with our parents as partners. We need teachers who are excellent communicators
Geographe ESC is a purpose built Kindergarten - 12 Public School co-located with Geographe PS and Busselton Senior High School Campuses. The school caters for students with a range of physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities and Autism. Students enrolled in the Centre enjoy both the staff support and specialist classrooms, and an inclusive school education. The Centre is an award winning Level 4 Education Support Centre an average enrolment of 42 students annually, supported by over 40 full time equivalent staff. Enrolment in the Centre is dependent on the Department of Education's Framework of Eligibility for Enrolment
The school has a long-term dedicated team of teachers and education assistants. We have whole school approaches to teaching and the programs that we use. We are a Positive Behaviour Support school and have a strong interest in Positive Education and Psychology.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
