West Greenwood Primary School (PS) are seeking a dedicated and motivated Teacher – Primary to join their team.
The successful applicant will be required to teach in an upper or middle primary classroom. Ideally, you will possess experience, or transferable skills in organisational matters that accompany this role, such as school camp, graduation and high school transition.
The successful applicant will exhibit the ability to work collaboratively in a middle or upper primary environment. They will be knowledgeable on effective pedagogy in the absence of text books and be able to develop and implement plans to support and extend students. The successful applicant should be able to develop strong relationships with students, staff and parents. They will be data literate and commit to whole school practices and strategies. The successful applicant will be able to exhibit effective inclusion of cross curricular priorities, such as Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Aboriginal Perspectives Across the Curriculum.
West Greenwood PS is a school that truly caters for the whole child, with a strong Pastoral Care program and specialist teachers in Physical Education, Japanese, Science and Music. The school has a strong focus on staff student relationships, that is built around creating a fun working and learning environment.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

Eligibility
Employees will be required to:

Training
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
