Cannington Community Education Support Centre (CCESC) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed-term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
We are looking for highly professional, motivated, collaborative, and innovative Education Support teachers wanting to work in an exciting and supportive school. Suitable applicants should be able to manage class teams and liaise with parents, therapists, and outside agencies to improve student outcomes and create safe and supportive learning environments.
The education support teacher will plan, program, and assess using a person-centred approach and an integrated curriculum. It is desirable that you are familiar with evidenced-based practices such as Applied Behaviour Analysis, Direct Instruction, Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communications Handicapped Children (TEACCH), as well as the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and information and communication technologies (ICT).
We have high expectations of our students and work in partnership with parents and other stakeholders to provide authentic and relevant programs. Programs include the Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN), School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) Courses and Endorsed Programs, Vocational Education and Training (VET) course in Agrifood Operations and middle school programs follow the Western Australian Curriculum.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.
