Newman Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.

Newman SHS is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teachers of Science to join their team. We are looking for teachers with excellent interpersonal skills who will provide high quality learning experiences for all students in Science. Early career teachers are encouraged to apply.

The suitable applicants will have a passion for secondary education, a positive attitude and a willingness to work collaboratively with a focus on high expectations of student progress and success.. We are an AVID school, and you will have significant professional learning opportunities including access to Classroom Management Instructional Strategies. Newman SHS is currently involved in the Fogarty Edvance school improvement program. You will have sound knowledge and teaching practice in the Science curriculum especially Years 7-10. The school currently runs ATAR Human Biology, with other upper school science offered through School Of Isolated And Distance Education (SIDE). You will be highly motivated, innovative and able to work collaboratively in a team environment designing and preparing relevant curriculum and assessment materials to meet our students at their point of need. A capacity to teach in other areas will be well regarded, as being flexible in a small school is an advantage.

Furthermore, you will be able to apply for a waiver on indexation on HECS HELP and FEE Help, and if you work full time for 4 years in a 6 year period, from 2023 you can apply to have the HELP debt remitted for education qualification related tuition costs.
