Appointment Pool
Swan View Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Teacher – Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2022. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements up to the end of Term 1, 2022.
Swan View SHS is seeking applicants who have an outstanding knowledge of HASS and/or English. Experience in teaching Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) courses including Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) HASS and/or English courses including Psychology is highly desirable.
As a teacher at our school you will have the belief that all students can learn and will be able to deliver the HASS and/or English curriculums to students in an engaging manner to allow each student to reach their full learning potential. Teachers embed the whole school pedagogical framework into their classroom practice, effectively plan and implement high quality lessons that are engaging and inspiring to students.
We are seeking applicants with excellent classroom management skills who have the desire to build positive, caring relationships with students based on mutual respect. We seek teachers who can differentiate curriculum and provide explicit instruction to meet diverse needs. We value teachers who can integrate technology into classroom practice and who use a range of assessment and reporting methods. Applicants will also have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Suitable applicants will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an ability to reflect on the effectiveness of their practice and a desire to contribute to our school community. An ability to use a range of data to inform lesson planning and strategies is essential. They will engage with the School Business Plan. Demonstrated success in teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and students at academic risk will be highly regarded.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
