Appointment Pool
Albany Secondary Education Support Centre (SESC) is an Independent Public School seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time teaching vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
We are looking for enthusiastic, highly professional, collaborative, organised and committed Education Support teachers who build strong positive relationships and communicate effectively with staff, students, parents and the wider community. Suitable applicants will be able to cater to differentiated student needs, manage class teams including education assistants, and liaise with parents and external agencies to meet the educational and social needs of the students. Applicants who are passionate about and committed to teaching in a vibrant education support environment, enjoy a mutually supportive environment with opportunities to grow are encouraged to apply.
Suitable applicants are expected to be committed to, model and demonstrate our school Positive Behaviour priorities of Respect, Safe, Responsible, Positive and Caring, and share our commitment to the Positive Behaviour in Schools program. They will also have an excellent knowledge of teaching students with specialised learning needs, including a wide range of levels of disability, health and mental health conditions. Knowledge or experience in implementing Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN), Visible Learning principles and High Impact Teaching Strategies would be beneficial. All staff are expected to be proficient at electronic communications and documentation.
Knowledge of whole school implementation of behaviour support practices, health and wellbeing processes for students with disabilities and involvement in Student Services or leadership at school and in the community would be appreciated.

Eligibility
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;

Training
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
