You will exhibit exemplary interpersonal and communication skills which will underpin positive, professional working relationships with staff, students, parents and the wider community. You will need to have the ability and confidence to communicate regularly and honestly with parents. Suitable applicants will need to be generous with their time to establish a highly regarded school.
The foundation staff of Baldivis South Primary School (planning name) will need to focus on the development of the whole child. Our aim, in partnership with families, is to create unique, lifelong learners who are resilient and confident to tackle challenges of an academic and personal nature. Our common goal is to have the students at the centre of everything we do and every decision we make. We will provide a unified approach to student well-being, where all staff will take shared responsibility to ensure that our students are well cared for and valued.
Our pastoral care program will include programs that target values and skills including confidence building, resiliency, citizenship, goal setting and leadership. Accepting children for who they are and building on their strengths will be a focus. A collaborative approach will ensure that intervention is targeted and individualised to enable each child to reach his / her full potential.
Well-researched, evidential practices will inform whole school approaches to teaching and learning to ensure that every child acquires the core literacy and numeracy skills as well as the knowledge and attitudes that are required to become lifelong learners. Suitable applicants will ideally have expertise and experience in explicit teaching and intentional play. It would be highly desirable for applicants to be able to implement and progress whole school approaches to teaching and learning and bring innovation to collaborative planning and lesson design. An embedded application of First Steps English and Maths, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and a knowledge and understanding of the Talk4Writing process would be highly desirable. Suitable applicants will be committed to reflective practice that will include classroom observations, feedback, modelling and coaching. You will assist the development and implementation of school wide practices to meet the needs of our students and ensure an environment that promotes success is created. Teachers will be expected to contribute to whole school and phase of learning teams and be involved in a strong professional learning community.
Our school is located in the growing suburb of Baldivis, surrounded by developing housing estates with many young families.
