Appointment Pool
Boddington District High School (DHS) are seeking to establish a pool of Teachers – Kindergarten to year 6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 and 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within this time frame.
Suitable applicants will have a high level of community engagement and understand how to build positive relationships with students, staff, families and external agencies. They will have high expectations and truly believe that all children can learn and be successful whilst pursuing excellence in their teaching. Suitable applicants will be committed to putting students first in their decision-making and undertaking the hard work that is inherent in delivering a motivating and quality educational program. They must believe that exemplary, evidence-based teaching practices lead to successful students and high standards of achievement. Through performance management, teachers will be expected to use student performance data, particularly in literacy and numeracy, to demonstrate a years’ worth of progress from a years’ worth of teaching, for every child.
Suitable applicants will be confident in the integration of digital technologies across the curriculum to enhance student outcomes. They will be motivated, reflective teachers who seek out new opportunities and are focused on their professional growth. Teachers who have additional expertise, skills and knowledge that can add value to the development of whole school programs will be viewed favourably.
Applicants will support major school directions and be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives. The learning environment they create will be engaging, challenging, and caring, and cater for the range of needs which will see all students make progress. You will use effective behaviour management strategies to establish and maintain an organised, orderly and learning-focused classroom.
Suitable applicants must display knowledge and understanding of the effective use of explicit teaching strategies and be dedicated and committed to improving student learning through continual teacher improvement and accountability. Teachers who have experience in implementing Stepping Stones Mathematics, Seven Steps for Writing, Talk4writing, Spelling Mastery and Maths Mastery are encouraged to apply.

Located 120 kilometres south-east of Perth, Boddington DHS offers courses from Kindergarten to Year 10. We attract students from the local community as well as students from Quindanning, Wandering, Bannister and Crossman. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
