Gwynne Park Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and committed Education Support Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year, up to the end of Term 4, 2021.
Suitable applicants will be motivated, compassionate, flexible and highly organised. In this position it is essential that you are familiar with, or willing to learn, strategies and use of evidence based programs such as Applied Behaviour Analysis, Direct Instruction, TEACCH, task analysis and the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to work effectively with our diverse range of students. Highly developed classroom management skills are crucial to create the safe and caring environments required for optimal learning to take place, as is the use of collaborative planning to support targeted and sustainable behaviour interventions. Proficiency in the use of assessment to identify ability, interests, progress and areas for development is essential as is the demonstrated ability to develop plans / programs aligned with identified individualised student outcomes. The successful applicant will possess outstanding communication skills and demonstrate strong leadership within the classroom and wider community.

We are looking for suitably qualified teachers with a passion for working with children with special needs.
Gwynne Park ESC shares the same campus as Gwynne Park Primary School in the Armadale suburb of Brookdale. The purpose built school, which opened in 1991, has eight classrooms. The school has a key focus on increasing student independence through positive behaviour to develop each child’s self-management and self-regulation. Gwynne Park ESC is an active member of the Education Support South Network.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
