Appointment Pool
Churchlands Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and team-orientated Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.

Our school is ideally looking for experienced contemporary educators with the ability to plan for school improvement using and responding to all data sources, ensuring curriculum and pedagogical development is current and ongoing. It will be desirable for applicants to possess an understanding of innovative, evidence based learning i.e.: Talk for Writing, Seven Steps to Successful Writing, First Steps, Instructional strategies, Habits of Mind and have experience in developing a learning environment that supports creative and critical thinking and flexible learning. Ideally, suitable applicants will have a commitment to ongoing professional learning and development including observation and effective feedback, and be confident in using Communication Technology (ICT) to deliver and improve student learning. We are looking for teachers who create a classroom where students are engaged, challenged, feel safe to take risks and are supported to learn.
We are a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) school with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) and Information and ICT school, with a collaborative and supportive staff who work under the direction of a clearly articulated Instructional Model to guide teacher practice and support the integration of digital technology throughout the school.
Suitable applicants will ideally exhibit a capacity to contribute to a strong collegial culture with a commitment to continual professional improvement and high expectations of students. We are looking for applicants who possess outstanding interpersonal skills; an ability to work in a Professional Learning Community (PLC); strong evidence based curriculum delivery, and who can establish Team engagement.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
