Perth Modern School is seeking to establish a pool of Gifted and Talented Mathematics Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 4, 2021.
Successful applicants will therefore exhibit the professional knowledge, understandings and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school Mathematics curriculum in the early and middle adolescent phases of learning. Importantly, they will be enthusiastic adopters of a school wide pedagogy based on direct, explicit instruction who are keen to work collaboratively with superordinates and colleagues across the learning areas.
Suitable applicants will be joining a progressive and enthusiastic team of teachers who are engaged in implementing a whole school gifted and talented approach to the educational programs offered in the school. Teachers will extend and challenge our highly able students through in-class and co-curricular activities. Teachers will also be involved in our Advocacy program, supporting the social and emotional needs of gifted learners.
