Ridge View Secondary College is an Independent Public School’s (IPS) seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic literacy and numeracy specialist teacher with excellent interpersonal skills. Successful applicants will have in depth knowledge of diagnostic testing and intervention programs, and have the ability to teach across English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities and Social Science to lower secondary classes identified as needing intensive literacy and numeracy support. It would be highly desirable for the applicant to have primary school experience and the ability to provide significant curriculum differientation. It is envisaged these programs will develop to cater for students across multiple year groups as the college grows.
As an expert practitioner you will have demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, ensuring the learning needs of all students are met. It is intended that all students will have a meaningful and appropriate Individual Education Plan that not only outlines functional curriculum objectives but supports the whole child through targeted social and life skills. Knowledge of SEN RTP, Back 2 Front Maths and CMS is desirable.
You will support the development of innovative classroom practices utilising effective information technologies to provide integrated, personalised, authentic and relevant learning experiences for students. A commitment to the college’s emphasis on pastoral care and co-curricular programs will be essential as well as active promotion of the college’s vision, motto and values within the college and the wider community. A key indicator of success of the program will be positivity and engagement from students and parents.
Ridge View Secondary College is a new and distinctive secondary college with state of the art facilities located in South Baldivis. The college opened in 2019 and will cater for students in Year 7, 8 and 9 in 2021. By 2024 the college will cater for students in Years 7 to12.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
