Appointment Pool
Currambine Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Classroom Teacher Kindergarten to Year 6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 - 2022 school years. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 – 2022 school years.
Suitable applicants must be highly skilled and motivated educators with a passion for teaching, have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and demonstrated best practice in literacy and numeracy. The suitable applicants will demonstrate a profound understanding of contemporary curriculum and pedagogy with an emphasis on low variation explicit teaching techniques. Experience with the integration of digital technologies into the learning program and formative evaluation techniques will be highly valued, as will demonstrated expertise in curriculum differentiation. Teachers with knowledge of the Western Australian Positive Behaviour in School program would be considered desirable. We are seeking exemplary teachers with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, which underpin professional and positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community. Teachers need to be able to work in a highly collaborative environment to improve student outcomes, reflect on their own performance, contribute to staff development and support our distributed leadership structure. The suitable applicants will be supported within the school through professional learning communities, school based professional learning, observation and feedback sessions along with in class coaching.
Currambine PS is a level 6 school located some 25 kilometres north of the Perth CBD with an enrolment of over 760 students. The school was opened in 1997 and is close to community services and resources, including public transport and the freeway. The school environment is well managed and maintained to ensure the needs of our students are well met. Currambine PS staff work as part of a dedicated team, collaborating in professional learning communities that deliver learning programs consistent with well-defined whole school approaches to pedagogy. The school staff have a can do approach to innovation and problem solving and pride themselves on providing an environment where each child is responded to in an inclusive manner and encouraged to reach their academic potential and develop their skills to manage their own health and wellbeing.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
