Mindarie Senior College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated Home Economics Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
As a Home Economics teacher you will participate as an integral member of the Technology and Enterprise learning area and be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, providing learning programs to students suited to the needs of the school community and modelling exemplary teaching and learning strategies in your delivery. As such, suitable applicants will possess a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, ideally having knowledge of and experience in, a range of instructional strategies and tactics. It is highly desirable for applicants to have Upper School experience especially in Textiles and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Suitable applicants will also be dedicated and highly motivated educators with an excellent knowledge of the Senior School Western Australian Curriculum, be able to deliver content in an engaging manner and be a highly effective team member. As a reflective practitioner, suitable applicants will possess effective data literacy and a capacity to modify their practice to meet identified student needs. The capacity to engage in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices, including integration of information technology into the curriculum, is a requirement. Pastoral care also remains a highly desirable aspect of the role.
