The Role
The PTA currently has a permanent Mechanical Rollingstock Technician role available. This position maintains an effective and reliable level of operating performance on the PTA’s Australind and Prospector rollingstock. This is achieved by carrying out routine procedures and mechanical/electrical fault rectification procedures on safety critical components and train systems. This work is completed in line with rail safety standards and customer expectations.
To be considered suitable for this role you will have technical trades’ experience/qualifications in mechanical and electrical rollingstock engineering principles. A minimum of twelve months experience is also required in the maintenance, repair, overhaul and inspection of the Prospector and Australind railcars (or similar passenger rollingstock) safety critical components including wheel sets, axel boxes, breaks, suspension, doors, couplers, engines and transmissions.
This position will require the ability to work shifts including weekends, public holidays and nights, standby hours and attend callouts at short notice.
