The Role
The PTA has a vacancy for a fixed-term Principal Civil Engineer to 30 June 2023 within our Major Projects (MP) Division. This role directs the technical planning, design, development, implementation and review of civil engineering works for projects undertaken by MP. This role also leads and provides expert advice in relation to new construction, alterations and maintenance of railway civil engineering assets in compliance with relevant standards, Codes of Practice and to satisfy the Rail Safety National Law.
The successful applicant will require a relevant professional engineering qualification with eligibility for Membership of Engineers Australia. Experience in civil engineering and knowledge in planning, design, procurement, construction and maintenance of railway earthworks and drainage and station precincts is required. Along with an understanding of the inter-relationship of civil works with geotechnical, railway and road bridge and associated structures, traffic and flood modelling.
