Balcatta Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an outstanding and enthusiastic Teacher - Science to join our Science Department.
The successful applicant will be dedicated, innovative and inspirational educator with a real passion for Science education and ideally with substantial experience in both lower and senior school science, specifically the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Human Biology and Chemistry courses and the ability to teach lower school Mathematics. They will have the capacity to plan and implement high quality lessons that engage students and inspire an interest in Science.
The applicant will use a range of pedagogies, including the integration of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and effective use of data to improve student outcomes.
Applicants should be committed to working effectively within a professional learning community within the Science Learning Area and as part of the wider community.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
