Appointment Pool
Byford Secondary College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and experienced teachers of English for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2021.
Suitable applicants will be dynamic and passionate teachers of English with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. We are seeking a pool of teachers who are highly reflective about their teaching practice with a commitment to evidenced based decision-making. Applicants require proven knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and ideally, experience in leading other staff in the delivery and review of pedagogy and Year 7-12 English teaching programs. Applicants with experience teaching Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) English and/or ATAR Literature would be viewed favourably.
Applicants need the professional knowledge, practices and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school curriculum using a positive, student-focused approach, and have had success working with students across a range of ability levels. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships are also required.

Byford SC is an Independent Public School approximately 30 kilometres from the Perth CBD. The College opened in 2014 and currently has a cohort of over 1400 Year 7 to 12 students with annual growth in student enrolments. Our College provides for the secondary education needs of students from Byford and the surrounding communities. Byford SC has become a focal point for secondary education provision for students with disabilities with our inclusion facilities. Byford SC's motto, Aspire to Excellence, clearly articulates our vision of being the secondary school of choice for the local community which provides a comprehensive suite of subjects from Year 7 through 12.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
