Northampton District High School is seeking an outstanding teacher of Mathematics and Science to join our dedicated team. We are located in the rural setting of Northampton, 54km north of Geraldton. Providing high quality education for the local community, we cater to children from Kindergarten to Year 10.

Our school is looking for an educator who possesses a deep understanding of current research and practice in explicit instruction and has experience in contributing to a culture of continuous school improvement. The role will involve teaching one class of Year 7/8 students and one class of Year 9/10 students within Mathematics and Science. With approximately 35 students, there is an opportunity for the development of excellent student and teacher relationships to promote exceptional outcomes. To be successful, you will ideally be experienced in the teaching of Mathematics, with an emphasis on explicit and data informed teaching practices. You will be expected to maximise student outcomes through evidenced best practice in teaching and learning and through utilising a high level of interpersonal skills. A demonstrated ability to effectively plan and drive student improvement in Mathematics will be highly regarded. An ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, is essential.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
