Joseph Banks Secondary College (SC) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Teacher of Information Technology to join our professional learning community who will ideally be a collaborative teacher with the ability to work well in a team environment. They will provide students with a purposeful and engaging learning experience to develop their understanding and appreciation of ICT.
You will require flexibility to teach Year 7-12 ICT classes including Certificate II in Information, Digital Media and Technology. It is therefore highly desirable that the successful applicant possess the current TAE 40116 Certificate IV Training and Assessment or its equivalent. A part of this role involves maintaining and reporting industry currency to relevant national accrediting bodies. Additionally, it is highly desirable that the successful applicant demonstrate capacity to teach senior school students at ATAR level in Computer Science. The role involves the capacity to teach across a range of lower school Digital Design contexts including Multimedia, Coding and Applied Design software packages (Adobe suite).
As an ICT teacher you would participate as an integral member of the teaching team and be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, providing learning programs to students according to the needs of the school community and modelling exemplary classroom practice. You would also assist in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices, integrate information technology into the curriculum and assist with the pastoral care of students and liaise with parents as required.

Joseph Banks SC, an Independent Public School, is located in the suburb of Banksia Grove, approximately 27 km from the Perth CBD. We currently accept students from Years 7-12. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
